Frequently Asked Questions

Q: We removed an interior wall and there are small chips in the concrete. Do we need to fix the chips?
A:

Minor slab imperfections do not interfere with the installation of Exelia or the overall end result. You can transition from a linoleum covered area to bare concrete for example without having to strip the linoleum. Addressing more prominent substrate issues in some industrial applications where heavy loads are constantly present is beneficial.

Q: Is the installation process fast?
A:

Yes, it is very fast. Determine your starting point and snap the tiles together, tap with a rubber mallet, repeat. When you reach the wall you can use a variety of cutting tools to trim or you can simply use a knife.

Q: What adhesive should I use?
A:

None. The typical application does not require the use of adhesives. Special situations like ramps, stair treads and inclined driveways will require standard vinyl glue.

Q: Why virgin vinyl?
A:

Exelia offers you the best. Our tile will not fade in color or turn brittle with time. It is consistent throughout with no significant change in characteristics time and time again. Most importantly, Exelia keeps you safe with the absence of the carcinogens associated with plastics, this is only possible through stringent control of the ingredients going into our product. Although there are some benefits to the use of regrind vinyl, we know the compromise is too great for you, the end user.

Q: Can I change or repair a tile?
A:

We understand that on rare occasions you might need to perform a minor repair, at which point you will really be glad you chose Exelia. Simply remove the intended area and put down the new tiles. Minutes later the task is done. This also allows you to do changes at will identifying a new no storage zone or rearranging office cubicles.

Q: Does Exelia offer ESD control?
A:

Yes. Your circuit boards, microchips and processors are all safe with us. We have a tile designed specifically for you. Please indicate your needs to your knowledgeable Exelia representative.

Q: We deal with acids that wreak havoc on our concrete, will Exelia help?
A:

Yes. Exelia is the perfect buffer zone that you need for all kinds of spills like acids and oils. Clean up promptly and you are good to go. Permanent damage is now less likely.

Q: Sound resonates in our lab, it gets very loud and distracting when we communicate and we cannot use carpet, what can we do?
A:

Exelia is second to carpet in its sound deadening qualities. Install Exelia and you will feel the difference right away while maintaining the proper flooring for your profession.
